I know what you're up to, kid. Just keep out of my head or you'll be sorry

–- Bowling Pin Ford

Bowling Pin Ford is a mental figure that appears in the Strike City fragment of Ford's Fractured Mind in Psychonauts 2. He is a giant bowling pin resembling a younger Ford Cruller.

Appearance[]

Bowling pin Ford is an enormous bowling pin, whose top has the facial features of Ford Cruller, specifically at the age when he was part of the psychic research team stationed in Green Needle Gulch. His hair is dark with some gray streaks in it, and it curls up at the sides. He also wears a green waistcoat over a white shirt, with a red bolo tie.

In the Lovers' Lane section of Strike City, several smaller versions of Bowling Pin Ford appear alongside matching Bowling Pin Lucys. These have arms, whereas the large one does not. Several of the signs indicating the start of the city's bowling lane highways also feature images of the Bowling Pin Ford and Lucy.

Much like Lighthouse Ford and Ford-Bot, the inside of the large Bowling Pin Ford's head is grotesquely realistic with visible muscles, jawbones, a pair of teeth and a tongue. It contains a tiny brain that houses one of Ford's Mental Shards.

Description[]

Bowling Pin Ford towers over the landscape of Strike City. Unlike the other parts of Ford's psyche, this part of Ford's mind seems to be aware of Razputin's meddling. Most of what he does throughout the level is simply threatening Raz to stay out of his mind. What Bowling Pin Ford represents is more clearly visible through the city itself: a general attitude that good times cannot last very long, and an angry feeling of resignation at being doomed to unhappiness without Lucrecia.

In Psychonauts 2[]

When Raz exits the Bowling Alley Interior, where he came into Strike City, he immediately wonders aloud if the enormous bowling pin version of Ford he sees in the distance has brains inside—meaning the Mental Shards he's looking for—to which he replies: "More than you got, sonny". The Bowling Pin continues to occasionally threaten Raz into leaving him alone as the boy gets closer. In the end, however, he is unable to stop Raz from finding his way inside his head and recovering the Shard inside.
