Dinosaur |
“Well, I'm from an old textbook, and it turns out I'm not considered a real dinosaur anymore. Please don't tell the librarian! She'll throw my whole book out!”
–Dinosaur
Dinosaur is a mental figure in Cassie's Collection and is one of many paper characters in Cassie's mind. He says he's trying to hide from Librarian Cassie so she doesn't throw his book away for being an outdated diagram. He is located in the Teacher's Domain.
Appearance[]
Dinosaur is an anthropomorphic paper cutout of a Brontosaurus skeleton diagram.
Dialogue[]
- (Lifted with telekinesis): ''What's happening? Am I evolving?''
- (When attacked): ''Can't hurt me! I'm already extinct!''
Trivia[]
- The paper cutout Dinosaur is a reference to "Brontosaurus", a now defunct classification of dinosaur. Named by O.C. Marsh in the 1880s, the dinosaur was identified in 1903 as a member of the Apatosaurus genus, which Marsh had found a few years earlier. Since taxonomy honors the name that came first, Brontosaurus excelsus became Apatosaurus excelsus. The Brontosaurus name was officially renamed to Apatosaurus in the 1970s when researchers ended the debate by showing that Brontosaurus and Apatosaurus were in fact the same species. However, in 2015, the debate was reopened when researchers proposed that Brontosaurus was a separate genus from Apatosaurus.
