Fake UFO

“Spaceship? (Chuckle) This thing? Please. Haven't you examined the material composition and construction methods? This is obviously just a reproduction alien vehicle. Created by the Federal Government in order to confuse and panic foreign countries during the arms race. The ocean floor is littered with them.”

The Fake UFO, also called Sasha's Spaceship, is an aircraft created to resemble an alien UFO. It is one of many created by the federal government to scare foreign countries during the arms race. It now lies at the bottom of the Rhombus of Ruin.

Psychonauts in the Rhombus of Ruin[]

Upon crashing into the Rhombus of Ruin, the Pelican's crew is scattered throughout the area. Sasha Nein ends up confined inside the Fake UFO on the bottom of the sea floor. He was hypnotized in a Psilirium induced trance, much like the rest of the unfortunate crew. Sasha believes that the UFO is real and that his captors, the Fish Guards, are benevolent alien visitors that have come to visit humanity. Raz tries to talk him out of the trance, but to no avail. He eventually frees him from the trance by playing Sasha's favorite song on a nearby record player created using the on-board atom splicer. Raz then exits the UFO by hopping into the brain of a nearby whale to search for Coach Oleander.

Puzzle Solutions[]

There are various puzzles located around the UFO that must be solved to continue the story. The main goal is to cure Sasha of the Psilirium poisoning. To do this, Raz must play his favorite classical music piece on a record player using the gold disk.

Control Table[]

There are four buttons on the control table in the center of the UFO. The first will play the record (once mounted), the second will change the pitch of everyone's voice in the UFO, the third will reverse gravity, and the fourth will lower the force field surrounding the cow. The force field must be lowered to continue the level.

Engine Cooler[]

The engine cooler must be stabilized in order to use the atom splicer. Raz must use Pyrokinesis to heat up each tube until all three have the same amount of liquid.

Atom Splicer[]

The goal is to create the record player using the atom splicer. First, place Edgar into the atom splicer to get the cow horn. Second, place the hay bale in the splicer to get the needle. Third, place the needle and the cow horn into the atom splicer to create the record player. Fourth, place the record player on the table in the center of the room and place the gold disk on the record player. Fifth, press the button labeled with a record icon on the table to play the record.

Trivia[]

The Gold Record is a reference to Voyager's Golden Record - a gold record player placed on the interstellar space probe, Voyager, that contains information about humanity for discovery by extraterrestrial life.
- The song on the record is one that Sasha's mother used to whistle while out in her garden—the first movement of Johann Sebastian Bach's Brandenburger Concerto no. 2 in F Major. Other tracks included on the record are a drum circle, the sound of monkeys screeching, and a whale song. [The latter of which is needed to progress]
