The Feel Mobile is a van belonging to Helmut Fullbear that used to be his tour van back before he became a Psychonaut. The van was so important to him that there is a mental duplicate in the Mote of Light's Mind, resembling a 1960s Volkswagen van.
Story[]
The Feel Mobile was originally a tour van / mobile home for Helmut Fullbear when he was touring around and performing his Psychodyssey, often to empty theaters. One night after his performance, he discovered a lone individual standing in the theater watching him: Ford Cruller. Ford Cruller brought Helmut to Green Needle Gulch to introduce to the rest of the Psychic Six.
Helmut parked his van as the centerpiece backdrop on his amphitheater stage in the Gulch, from which he would perform his latest rendition of the Psychodyssey for his friends. Helmut and Bob would watch the small black-and-white television kept in the back, which is where they saw the news report on the terrible things happening in Grulovia. After Helmut's disappearance following the Battle of Grulovia, the friends held a memorial service for him, building a shrine next to the van. The van remained, rusting away to a derelict wreck.
Psychonauts 2[]
Within the Mote of Light's mind, a functioning mental duplicate of the Feel Mobile existed, where it belonged to band leader Vision Quest. Vision, Raz, and the Mote used the van to travel around the mental landscape, recruiting their fellow bandmates: Dr. Touch, Sniffles, Tasty, and Audie O. With the whole band back together, they piled into the van and returned to the stage to put on the greatest rock show in history.
The Feel Mobile also appears in Bob's Bottles as part of a recreation of Bob Zanotto's and Helmut Fullbear's wedding, though it cannot be driven. Raz can find the real Feel Mobile in Green Needle Gulch, having fallen into a state of disrepair and now housing a family of skunks.
Trivia[]
- Vision Quest drives the van instead of Raz in the concept art. This is likely because Raz isn't old enough to have a driver's license.
- After Audie O comes back to the band, he asks PSI-King if he wants to "go for a ride in the van" in a seductive tone. PSI-King responds saying "Of course. Why do you think I keep that thing around?".
- If the player used the Smelling Salts while in the van, the scene of Raz using them plays without his model.
