Oooh, me! PICK ME!

–An egg audience member

The food audience is a group of mental figures in Compton's Cookoff. Audience members include pigs, eggs, bread, watermelons, bee hives, onions, and strawberries. Some of them serve as ingredients for the dishes made in the game show, Ram in Down. They are prepared using the Froggy Flipper, the Pork Chopper, Patty Puree, and the Hippo Pot.

Appearance[]

For the most part, their aspects are completely based off their real counterparts, with the most notorious feature being the cartoony limbs and expressions. Their appearance tend to change according to the cooking process they were put on. The only ingredient that is unique to the bunch is the pork, a small pig figure which after being sliced its shape turns into a bacon.

Personality[]

As stereotypical cooking show, the audience has an enthusiastic attitude for most of the time. However it’s presented in a morbid sort of way; since these participants are literal living food, one can believe that they might be angry or scared for their lives but oddly enough, they seem totally fine and actually joyful of being cooked in many ways even if this means their own demise. Even the Pork Chopper was more terrified than the pork when the latter was going to be sliced.

The only time they seem present another emotion aside from pure positiveness is in one of the recipes called "Vegetable Medley" and the "Jam Tarts": in the first one most of the recipe has bunch of food spread all over the plate with dead faces (represented with the classic "X_X gesture"), and the last one has some tarts with neutral or surprised facial expressions.

Evil Food Ingredients[]

"Some unused lines suggest that there were originally additional mechanics in the Compton's Cookoff level.

These lines suggest a more adversarial relationship between the player and the ingredients, as opposed to the morbid enthusiasm for being selected, cooked, and eaten in the final release. There are also food items mentioned that are not included in the game."

Trivia[]

  • Every ingredient is used in two different recipes. The only exceptions are the Egg Ingredient, which is only absent for the Jam Tarts recipe, and the Strawberry ingredient, which is used in three different recipes.
  • Related to the unused content, Some of the unused ingredients include: Potatoes and oranges.
  • Upon revisiting Compton's Cookoff, no traces of any of the food audience will be left. Unlike the Gluttonous Goats which their only remain are a trio of goats that roam the area.
  • After completing the "Strawberry Jam Croque Madame" recipe, in the cutscene there’s a small shot of a strawberry grabbing the hand of an onion, then there’s the "Honey Pepper Pancake Stacker" completion cutscene where the main shot goes to the watermelon fainting but above it the strawberry and onion from the past cutscene are seen hugging in fear. Lastly after defeating the boss, in the background it is reveal that the ingredients became a couple and even had a baby onion (Video reference and the specific timestamps: 25:15, 43:07 and 54:26)
