French Soldiers |
–Napoleonic Troop
The French Soldiers were Napoleon’s trusted and wooden soldiers in Waterloo World, as well as one of the two enemies faced in this mental world. Like their smaller comrades, the Cannon Snails, their role was the one of protecting Napoleon’s stronghold and by consequence stopping Fred from winning.
Appearance[]
They’re large wooden human figures with an uniform resembling to the ones the real french soldiers used when Napoleon was in fact an emperor. These uniforms have a blue with small bits of yellow, wears blank pants with black boots and they hold a big musket (they always stay on this holding position). Their expressions are always the same, a serious yet grumpy looking, which contrasts a little with their actual personalities.
Like all other game pieces, the French Soldiers have a small platform below them which includes a large letter on the front, back and the sides; however theirs is distinguishable by having a big "N" emphasizing with who they are working for.
Psychonauts[]
The French Soldiers work as a major obstacle enemy that can only be defeated by armed Peasants. Raz has to recruit three peasants to defeat each one. The first soldier destroys a bridge, then terrorizes the second Peasant, the first soldier is killed when the first peasant gets a letter from Fred. The second soldier comes out and destroys the next bridge and starts protecting the stronghold. After the bridge is repaired, the second peasant kills the second soldier; and the third but also last soldier comes out and is ordered to guard the stronghold as long as he can.
The third peasant takes out the remaining soldier, leading to Napoleon to retreat and shuts down the castles bridge so the Hearty Knight can’t finish the game.
Personalities[]
The soldiers were mean and never gave up on conquering other people’s lands just like their leader Napoleon. Even when Fred was starting to gain faith and start supporting its militia, these soldiers didn’t seem to bother and even mocking Raz about his statement that Fred was going to win. The soldiers were mostly loyal to Napoleon, as seen when Razputin shows the "I care" note; the soldiers arrogantly claims that they like their leader better. However, they’re also shown not to be perfectly loyal when Razputin shows the coin. The soldier, when shown the coin, will say that if they don't get more funding in two weeks he'll jump ship.

Strategy[]
You cannot harm the soldiers by any means, no PSI-Powers of any kind. The only way these soldiers can be defeated is by making them fight against other soldiers, so basically just recruit the peasants to make a militia and give each one of them what they need or want to have a chance on this battle.
Trivia[]
