The Gastronauts are an independent group known to and often compared with the Psychonauts. The name implies the group may be associated with the exploration and understanding of either: 1) the human body, or 2) food.
Background[]
The group is mentioned only briefly in Psychonauts 2, so very little is known about them.
Trivia[]
- When referenced by members of the Psychonauts, the group is sometimes derogatorily referred to as the "Gastronuts", indicating some bad blood between the two organizations.
- Hollis Forsythe mentions that the Gastronauts do not worry about their budget nearly as much as the Psychonauts, indicating they are not in such dire financial straits.[1]
- The name is a play on "gastro-", a word referring to the stomach or the gastrointestinal tract (digestive tract) from the Greek word meaning "belly", combined with "-naut", a term used to refer to an explorer (e.g., Psychonaut).
