The Gold Record is an item appearing in Psychonauts in the Rhombus of Ruin. It is found on the fake UFO. It is used to play Sasha's favorite song to snap him out of the Psilirium hallucination via the record player.
Trivia[]
- The Gold Record is a reference to Voyager's Golden Record - a gold record player placed on the interstellar space probe, Voyager, that contains information about humanity for discovery by extraterrestrial life.
- Sasha Nein unsuccessfully tried to take the record with him when he escaped from the Rhombus of Ruin.
- The song on the record is one that Sasha's mother used to whistle while out in her garden—the first movement of Johann Sebastian Bach's Brandenburger Concerto no. 2 in F Major. Other tracks included on the record are a drum circle, the sound of monkeys screeching, and a whale song.
