“I'm Gonna Live Forever”
–Steam achievement description
Golden Helmets are collectible upgrades in mental worlds that when picked up permanently increases how many Projection Layers that Razputin Aquato can have by one layer. In Psychonauts, he starts with a maximum of five projection layers, and when all six of them are collected in the mental worlds he can have up to a maximum of eleven projection layers. Each one is found in a different mental world, however not every mental world has a golden helmet due to the fact that there are more than six mental worlds.

- Brain Tumbler Experiment - (after Sasha's Shooting Gallery) behind the thorny tower.
- Lungfishopolis - on top of a skyscraper after the monorail tunnel.
- The Milkman Conspiracy - You need telephone access, it's on the island accessible from the telephone pole after the road crew.
- Waterloo World - On the pink bridge near the peasant who is unarmed.
- Black Velvetopia #1 - Hang the window painting on the upper ledge at end of the of an alley near the Queen of Diamonds. Enter the newly created window.
- Black Velvetopia #2 - THIS ONE CAN BE MISSED if you complete Black Velvetopia. Get the confusion grenade merit badge and use it to temporarily stop the bull so the bulldog can paint the poster on the wall. Return to Dingo Inflagrante for your reward.
Trivia[]
- Collecting all the Golden Helmets on the steam version of Psychonauts will unlock the achievement I'm Gonna Live Forever.
