Agent Cruller! I’m here to help! I want to… unshatter your mind!

Razputin to Ford Cruller

Mental Shards are glass shards found across the different Mental Worlds from Ford's Fractured Mind. Each contains the lost memories about Ford Cruller's past, caused by the Astralathe after the fight with Maligula and psyche modifications towards Lucy and Augustus. Raz must collect all three shards to repair Ford's mind but for that, Raz needs to reach the inside of a mental replica of Ford Cruller and his different personas.

Gameplay[]

Like some of the other collectibles in Psychonauts 2; the mental shards are objects located at certain points of the level that can be easily collected by interacting with them, however their guide to find them is what makes them troublesome. Each one of them is inside the head of an aspect of Ford and to do that each and one of them has their own paths, obstacles and more. Collecting any of this pieces gives more clues on Lucrecia and Ford, as well as the relation the two had prior to the events with the Maligula's emergence, this is reflected via cutscenes of Raz putting the shards on the hand mirror the headless Ford is carrying and the little psychic putting an object related to the mind in a furniture.

  • (Ford Cruller) "Ahh, I had so much to learn."
  • (Mail Clerk Ford) "Ah, I guess some packages are better left unopened."

Trivia[]

  • Upon revisiting Strike City and Ford's Follicles, the player can get inside the sections with the inside skull of Ford but it will lack the appearance of the small brain along with the mental shard since this area technically shouldn't be accesible.
