The needle is an item found in the Fake UFO in Psychonauts in the Rhombus of Ruin. It can be created by placing the Hay Bale inside the atom splicer. It can also be combined with the cow horn to create the record player, or with the leather jacket to create the spiked leather jacket.

- The needle emerging from a split-up hay bale references the saying "finding a needle in a haystack".
- Creating the spiked leather jacket using the needle earns the achievement "Brütal", in reference to Brütal Legend, another game developed by Double Fine Productions.
