Nerve Center

I’m sorry, Ms. Zanotto. He’s with the medical team right now and they said no visitors.

Jared

The Nerve Center is the command room of the Motherlobe. The room is always staffed with multiple Psychonaut agents so it can be perceived as the area where the Psychonauts could access agents in the field via their minds and as well as detecting psychic activity around the world just like Ford's Sanctuary back at Whispering Rock.

Description[]

As stated before; the room is filled with high tech devices, floating monitors and a giant hologram brain which lays on the center of a large table. The Nerve Center houses a large window with a view of the outside wilderness and main hub, at the right side of it (from the point of view of the entrance to this room) there’s an elevator that leads to the Office of the Grand Head. Some characters will be here depending on what’s going on in the plot of Psychonauts 2. Sasha, Oleander and Milla can be seen here after discovering the brainless body of Nick Johnsmith and getting a key to a suite in the Lady Luctopus Casino, Hollis Forsythe remains stationed in here for the rest of the events happened in the Motherlobe and in the post-game Bob Zanotto and Helmut’s brain are located here since they are trying to localize the body of the latter.

Going into the Nerve Center is obligatory to get the conversation with Sasha Nein, which unlocks the access to the Collective Unconscious (through the Brain Tumbler), as well as the Smelling Salts. The last relevant time this location is shown is in the ending cutscene.

Mission Critical Asset Request Form[]

  • Astronaut ice cream: Dispensed by a computer. Find the brightly lit green computer in the center of the room and interact with it. A new computer screen nearby will light up, allowing Raz to interact with it as well. Repeat this a few times until the next screen lights up. Interact with it to receive the Astronaut Ice Cream.

PSI Cards[]

All PSI Cards and their locations. (Click expand to open)
1.– When you enter the Nerve Center, look underneath the stairs that go to the left and there will be a PSI Challenge Card.

2.– In the middle of the Nerve Center where all the chairs are, the PSI card is in one of the chairs.

3.– Go up to Truman's office in the Elevator in the Nerve Center. When jumping across the rocks and the path is about to go in a different direction, there's a card in the distance next to the window that you'll have to jump across the water to get.

4.– Behind where Truman is resting is a shelf with a PSI card on it.

5.– During the game, Truman Zanotto will eventually give you Thinker Print Access to all the locked doors in the Mother Lobe and that includes the locked door next to him in his office. Unlock the door and jump on top of the machine to get the PSI Challenge card.

Trivia[]

  • The name "Nerve Center" is a reference to the largest part of the brain, the cerebrum.
  • The mugshots that appear on the computer screens inside the Nerve Center are the same mugshots that appear in Ford's Sanctuary and inside Boyd's Mind.
  • The unnecessary amount of doors protecting the Nerve Center could be a possible reference to the 1965 American comedy spy television series, Get Smart. In the show's opening, an agent must walk down a flight of steps, emerging through a pair of fake elevator doors into a long corridor protected by four sets of security doors.
