Noodle Bowl is the cafeteria at the Motherlobe, located off the East side of the Atrium. Its current special and most popular food is Honey Pepper Boar Bacon. The Motherlobe's bathrooms, where Razputin can change his clothes once he's unlocked the option, are accessible from here.
Description[]
Exterior[]
As the Noodle Bowl is the cafeteria for all Psychonauts stationed at the Motherlobe, it is located near the center of the building. From the Lobby, the Noodle Bowl is easily recognizable by the neon sign above its entrance that reads "Noodle Bowl" in large green letters, with a depiction of a bowl with a brain inside and chopsticks next to it.
Interior[]
The inside of the Noodle Bowl is a circular room with large windows overlooking another, inaccessible wing of the Motherlobe. The room features a decently large open dining area in the middle, accessible by some steps. On the left side of the room is a station with a counter where food and drinks can be ordered from the cafeteria worker, as well as a self-serving buffet opposite it that has various types of food and condiments available, such as hot dogs, salads, and a few different types of cake for dessert. The Day-Old Sushi can also be picked up here.
On the right side of the room is a half-circular body of water, and a large ivy plant grows across the wall that can be climbed to get on top of the large flat light fixtures illuminating the room from above. On the far right is the door to the bathrooms. Razputin can go here to change his clothes to his original outfit from Psychonauts, his suit from the mission in Loboto's Labyrinth, or his skivvies, once he has completed the Mission Critical Asset Recovery side mission and received his clothes back from Norma.
Agents Kramer and Crenshaw can regularly be found at the Noodle Bowl, discussing secret matters in a code that makes it appear to outsiders as though they are sharing recipes.
Psychonauts 2[]
The Noodle Bowl's plays its main role in the story of Psychonauts 2 when Raz gets some leftover Honey Pepper Boar Bacon from the cafeteria worker. He uses the bacon to summon Ford Cruller back to the Motherlobe, and it manages to keep Ford busy as Raz takes a look inside his mind for the first time.
Trivia[]
- According to one interview with composer Peter McConnell, the music heard playing at the Noodle Bowl was initially meant to be used in an early, less frantic version of Compton's Cookoff.[1]
- Behind the cafeteria worker, a chalkboard lists a variety of available items, though their prices are not visible. These include: Hot Dog, Hamburger, Fish Sticks, Salad, Fries, Cheese Plate, Turkey Wrap, Soda, and Special.
- According to Hollis, Tuesdays are "Taco Tuesdays" at the Noodle Bowl. This most likely implies Psychonauts 2 does not take place on a Tuesday.
- Also according to Hollis, chimichurri is available at the Noodle Bowl. Milla orders it regularly, and she prefers it with fresh cilantro.
