Psychonauts Wiki

Every office building needs a communal place to eat. The Noodle Bowl is where Psychonauts HQ employees come to sit, eat, and take a break from the exhausting work of psychic spy stuff.

–A description in The Art of Psychonauts 2.

Noodle Bowl is the cafeteria at the Motherlobe, located off the East side of the Atrium. Its current special and most popular food is Honey Pepper Boar Bacon. The Motherlobe's bathrooms, where Razputin can change his clothes once he's unlocked the option, are accessible from here.

Description[]

Gross. Okay I’m closing up shop. Enjoy your dirty bacon, kid.

Cafeteria Worker.

This particular place is located at the lobby of the Motherlobe, precisely facing the Mailroom: Its exterior has a big logo in green neon colors with the name of the location, as well as a brain being grab with chopsticks and served on a bowl next to it. As for the inside, the place has a circular shape with large windows overlooking another inaccessible wing of the Motherlobe. Its circular shape is an advantage to make the tables large enough to let a good chunk of people sit on them, there’s also a station with a counter where food and drinks can be ordered from the Cafeteria Worker, in addition to this, there’s a self-serving buffet with various types of food and condiments available such as: hot dogs, salads, and a few different types of cake for dessert. Other minimal stuff to point out could be the body of water near the bathroom and a big ivy plant across one of the walls.

During the events of Psychonauts 2, the area is only visited to make Ford Cruller appear from Raz’s ear with a piece of bacon in order to "fix him" just as Truman ordered the young psychic. After entering the mind of Ford Cruller and making different aspects to spread all over the Motherlobe, the area has not other usage other than being the only area where Raz can change his clothes in the post-game.

Supply Chest[]

  • Found in the Noodle Bowl, use the vines on the wall to climb up to the lights and then jump from the last light to where the Supply Chest is.[1]

Chimichurri Vodelo[]

A recipe was written in The Art of Psychonauts 2 for one of the specialties of the cafeteria. The following are the ingredients[2]:

  • 1/4 Cup finely diced red onion
  • 1 Finely chopped fresno chilli
  • 5 Finely diced garlic cloves
  • 1/2 cup red wine vinegar
  • 1/2 cup chopped cilantro
  • 1/3 cup freshly chopped parsley
  • 2–TBSP fresh oregano, roughly chopped
  • 3/4 Cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 1/2 TBSP salt

Mix all ingredients and add more salt if needed. Cover and let sit in the fridge for at least 30 minutes and up to 24 hours. Us as a tapping for roast chicken, steak, grilled tofu, fish, or even roasted potatoes.

Trivia[]

  • According to one interview with composer Peter McConnell, the music heard playing at the Noodle Bowl was initially meant to be used in an early, less frantic version of Compton's Cookoff.[3]
    • Luckily, the music did in fact made it into Compton’s mind but as a melody only heard in the intro of the commercial set combats.
  • Fun detail: In The Art of Psychonauts 2, at the page talking about the Noodle Bowl, at the page of the right there is a note mentioning the name of the cafeteria worker which is "Cathy Jean".
  • According to Hollis, Tuesdays are "Taco Tuesdays" at the Noodle Bowl. This most likely implies Psychonauts 2 does not take place on a Tuesday.
    • Also according to Hollis, chimichurri is available at the Noodle Bowl. Milla orders it regularly, and she prefers it with fresh cilantro.
