PSI-Punch

PSI-Punch is the psychic ability to generate a large fist of energy to punch, poke, or slap enemies.

Gameplay (Psychonauts)[]

PSI-Punch is Razputin's basic attack combo and move. When used he projects a big orange fist with his mind and uses it to punch forward.

Strategies[]

While the PSI Punch is indeed effective against (almost) all Censors, it falls short against enemies with more varied attacks. Save it only for absolute desperation, if you're right up next to an enemy, or if you just want to beat the crap out of everything.
Punching three times will give a combo: right punch, then left punch, then palm strike). PSI-Punch has different variations, such as Palm Bomb, which is an air-to-ground attack and has a larger attack area, but is less rapid than PSI-Punch.

Palm Bomb[]

The Palm Bomb is a basic fighting technique usable by Razputin in Psychonauts. To use it, Raz has to use PSI-Punch while in the air. He will then dive downwards with his palm stretched out towards the ground. This technique is particulary handy to clear out a group of enemies that get too close, or have the player surrounded.

Trampoline Bomb[]

By performing a palm bomb directly above a trampoline, you can get a lot more upward force than you normally would by just jumping continuously.

Upgrades[]

At PSI Cadet Rank 35, Raz learns the Palm Megabomb, an upgrade to the Palm Bomb. It allows Raz to attack multiple times before hitting the ground, increasing the move's power.

Gameplay (Psychonauts in the Rhombus of Ruin)[]

While Raz isn't able to use PSI-Punch, he can use a variant called "PSI-Poke" to nudge or poke people and/or objects.

Gameplay (Psychonauts 2)[]

Raz can use PSI-Punch to attack enemies in Psychonauts 2. Unlike Psychonauts, Raz will occasionally leap towards enemies that are farther away.

Strategies[]

Time bubble can be used to slow down a large enemy from far away, and then mental connection can be used to quickly pull Raz toward that enemy. Once close, he can use Psi Punch to deal massive damage.

Upgrades[]

Base Power - Press X while on the ground to punch, and while airborne to ground pound.
Dodge Attack - Press X while dodging to execute a Dodge Attack.
Slap Happy - Get in an extra attack with your melee combo.
Shockwave - Add a radial shockwave to your ground pound that damages and pushes enemies back.

Pins[]

Rainblows - Bedazzle your enemies while pummeling them with full spectrum fists!
Strike-onaut - Channels more psychic energy into your punches to deal more damage!

Trivia[]

In Black Velvetopia Raz's PSI-Punch is purple in color.
In Linda the Lungfish's mind, Lungfishopolis, Raz's PSI-Punch has a longer range and is a clawed hand, because the Lungfish populating the mind think he is a monster. Additionally, the Palm Bomb attack appears as feet instead of hands.
Sasha's hit animation in Psychonauts is different than other character's. He goes completely stiff and rocks back and forth.
