Previously on Psychonauts is the working title of an animation that plays at the start of Psychonauts 2 recapping the events of Psychonauts and Psychonauts in the Rhombus of Ruin. It plays after the initial Assist Features and Mental Health Advisory menus to catch players up on the story so far. It can be accessed again inside the "extras" menu.
In the animation, Razputin narrates a reader submission to True Psychic Tales magazine that he wrote and illustrated as he was preparing for his next mission. It tells the true story of his adventures at Whispering Rock Psychic Summer Camp and in the Rhombus of Ruin.

- Many side characters from Psychonauts make brief appearances in the animation.
- The art for this animation was done by Michael Firman, an artist who has previously done fanart of Double Fine games and also provided caricatures of Double Fine staff members for the Amnesia Fortnight video series on their Youtube channel.
